Recent results from Croydon Council in 2024 reveal positive insights about life in Croydon. This survey highlights the strong sense of community and the improvements that continue to take place across the borough.
A total of 1,694 interviews were conducted with Croydon residents between September and December, reflecting a wide range of ages, backgrounds, and locations within the borough. These efforts provide a statistically significant look at what people really think about their neighbourhoods, the local services, and the council’s overall performance.
A Strong Sense of Community
One of the most encouraging findings is that 78% of Croydon residents feel a strong sense of belonging to their local neighbourhoods, with 82% noting that people from different backgrounds get along well together. These results show that, despite recent challenges, Croydon remains a place where community ties are strong.
What Residents Love About Croydon
The survey revealed that many residents appreciate Croydon’s excellent public transport links, the variety of shops, and the abundance of parks and open spaces. These features contribute to making the borough a great place to live and raise a family.

Key Areas for Improvement
While the overall satisfaction rate for Croydon as a place to live is high (69%), there is still work to be done when it comes to residents’ perceptions of the council’s governance. Only 45% of respondents felt positive about the way the council is run, with many citing concerns over its previous financial troubles.
